Onepoto Bay

Onepoto Bay is a beach break on a sandy beach, located in a sheltered bay at the south end of Hicks bay, also known as Horsehoe Bay. There are a couple of peaks with both right and left handers. The wave is punchy and fun. Good for all levels of surfer.

Tokata

Tokata is a beach break on a sandy beach, located the northern end of a long beach. There are several peaks along the beach to choose from with both right and left handers. The wave is punchy and hollow. Good for all levels of surfer.

Te Araroa

Te Araroa is a beach break on a sand/shingle beach, located at the mouth of the Te Araroa River. The wave is wally and hollow, with some barrels on offer, but it can change depending on water movement and shingle banks. There are several peaks to choose from with both right and left handers, and there is also a right hand point on the east side of the river mouth which can get working on a big swell. Suitable for advanced to expert surfers.

Hicks Bay

Hicks Bay is right near the tip of East Cape. Its a sandy beach break with peaks down the beach. Its a softer wave, good for beginners up, and uncrowded. Often bigger than it looks from up the hill.
