Kai Iwi is a beach break on a sandy beach, located at Kai iwi, north of Wanganui at the mouth of the Mowhanau and Kai Iwi Streams. There are several peaks along the beach to choose from with both left and right handers. The wave is changable and can be punchy and fun. Suitable for surfers of all levels.

From Wanganui head north on London Street, Great North Road, State Highway 3. At Kai Iwi turn left onto Kai Iwi Valley Road, down to the coast. Continue left onto Handley Road then turn right onto Rimu Street. Continue down Mowhanau Drive and near the end turn left onto Tangi Street then right onto Moana parade.
