Description:

Clifford Bay is an open beach that gets quite exposed to the wind. Its a beach break on a sandy beach, with several peaks down the beach, offering both right and left handers. The wave is often small, fairly soft, good for mals. Great for beginner and intermediate surfers. Not far along, Marfells Beach also has a camping ground (DOC).

Directions:
From Blenheim head south on State Highway 1, through Sedden. Just past the Grassmere salt works, turn left onto Marfells beach Road. Continue down to the beach and park up, from here walk north up the beach to find a good peak. Not far along, Marfells Beach has a DOC camp ground. You can also get to the north side of the salt works, by turning off earlier onto Kaparu Road and taking the gravel road on the right to the beach.
