Whangamoa is a beach break on a sandy beach, with a river/inlet mouth. there are several peaks down the beach to choose from with both right and left handers. best around the river/inlet mouth. Can get good punchy, fun waves. Suitable for all levels. River mouths often have strong currents or rips, so watch out.

Directions
From Nelson head north on State Highway 6. Turn left onto Flowers Road and first right onto Hori Bay Road, the road will be gravel from here. Take this most of the way to hori Bay but before you get there you will come up on top of the hill and be able to see Whangamoa beach and Whangamoa inlet to the north. Park here and walk down the hill to Whangamoa beach.
