Description:

Whites Bay is a nice sheltered, little bay with a small beach break on a sandy beach. It doesn't get a lot of swell and needs the right angle to get in there. When its on it offers nice A frame peaks with both left and right handers. Whites Bay produces a nice wally wave and is often clean. Good for beginners up. Watch our for swimmers.
It gets popular in the summer as a picnic spot and camping ground (DOC). Also, has a surf club.

Directions:
From Blenheim head north on State Highway 1, through Spring Creek. Then turn right at Tuamarina onto Hunter Road. The road will turn left onto Pembers Road, and continue down to Rarangi Beach. Drive through Rarangi on Rarangi Beach Road to the end of the road and turn left onto Port Underwood Road, where you will go up over the hill. Turn right into Whites Bay (before the road turns to gravel), drive through the camp ground and find a park. Whites Bay is a DOC camp ground, and is a really nice bay to stay at. The gates into the bay are often closed between 11pm and 6am.
