Description:

Eastbourne is on the east side of Wellington harbour, and refers to the coastline between Eastbourne and Pencarrow Head, where you will find several breaks to choose from on most of the points. The breaks are all left hand point breaks, and break on big south swells. The waves will be bigger at Pencarrow Head and get smaller as they come in towards Eastbourne. You can find some mellower, wally waves and good length rides. Not usually any crowds out this way. Good for surfers of all levels.

Directions:
From Wellington head north out of Wellington on State Highway 1, towards Hutt Valley. Take the exit off the motorway turning right to Patone on The Esplanade. Continue on the Esplanade and onto Waione Street, then turn right at the big roundabout onto Seaview Road. Continue along the coast, through Eastbourne, on Muritai Road, down to Pencarrow Head. Will need to walk the last section to the Pencarrow Head lighthouse. There are several point breaks between Eastbourne and Pencarrow Head to choose from. Go throught Eastbourne, along Muritai Road all the way to the light house at Pencarrow Head.
