Paekakariki is a beach break on a sandy beach. Paekakariki has several peaks along the beach to choose from with both right and left handers. The wave is small and soft, great for beginners but also good for surfers of all levels.

Directions
From Wellington head north out of the city on State Highway 1. Turn left where the signs point to Porirua, still on State Highway 1. Continue past Porirua and Paremata to Paekakariki. Turn left onto Ames Street, then continue onto Wellington Road, and turn left onto either Beach Road or The Sand Trak, down to the beach.
