From Wellington head north out of the city on State Highway 1. Turn left where the signs point to Porirua, still on State Highway 1. Continue past Porirua, Paremata, Paekakariki and Waikanae, to Otaki. Turn left onto Riverbank Road, then turn left onto Rangiuru Road down to the beach. Find a good spot along Marine Parade.
