Description:

Oamaru Harbour is a right hand point break at the end of the harbour breakwater. Its a short, punchy wave that breaks onto a sand and rock bottom. It needs a good size swell to get working. Good for all surfers, but best for intermediate and up. Watch out for boats passing. Careful of tidal currents and rips.

From Oamaru main road State Highway 1 heading south through the city, veer left into the old part of town on Thames Street. At the end of the street turn left onto Itchen Street, then right onto Tyne Street, then left onto Arun Street.
