Whangara
Whangara is a beach break on a golden sand beach, located north of Gisborne. There are several peaks to choose from along the beach with both right and left handers. The wave is punchy and fun. There is also a good left hander off the south side of Whangara island which produces nice long rides. suitable for all surfers.

From Gisborne town centre drive east on Gladstone Road, onto Wainui Road, State Highway 35, towards Wainui. Continue past Wainui on Moana Road and onto Whangara Road. At Whangara turn right onto Pa Road, down to the beach.
