Makorori Point is a right hand point break on a rocky point, located in the next bay north of Wainui. The wave is soft, fat, but nice and long, great mal wave. The wave gets better as the swell gets bigger. suitable for all surfers. Popular spot, so know the rules and respect the locals.

From Gisborne town centre drive east on Gladstone Road, onto Wainui Road, State Highway 35, towards Wainui. Continue past Wainui on Moana Road and onto Whangara Road. Makorori point is on the first point past Wainui, at the southern end of Makorori Beach.
