Midway Pipe
Midway Pipe is a few hundred meters west of the Midway Surf Life Saving Club, out front of Watson Park. Its a sandy, beach break with one main peak offering both right and left handers, or there are a couple of other smaller peaks further down the beach. The main peak has a hollow drop in and barrel section. The right hander is usually a longer wave. Midway Pipe can get really crowded, so know the rules and respect the locals. leave this one to the advanced and expert surfers.

From Gisborne City Centre, near the clock tower on Gladstone Road, travel west, then turn south onto Stanley Road, and go all the way to the end, Midway Surf Life Saving Club, beside Watson Park. Turn right onto Centennial Marine Drive and go along a little further and find a park. The main surf peak is a few hundred meters west down the beach from the surf club.
