Waihau Bay
Waihau Bay is a beach break on a sandy beach, located out near the end of East Cape. There are several peaks along the beach to choose from with both right and left handers. The wave is soft yet punchy. Good for all levels of surfer.

Directions
From Whakatane head east through Opotiki and change from State Highway 2 onto State Highway 35. Take this all the way along the coast past Papatea Bay to Waihau Bay, and turn left onto Orete Point Road. Surf the sand beach at the eastern end, Te Rangiharu Bay.
