Kaituna is a river mouth beach break on a sandy beach, located at the mouth of the Kaituna River. There are several peaks to choose from with both right and left handers. The wave is Hollow and powerful with barrels on offer. Best left to the expert surfers.

Directions
From Tauranga City, head south east on Mt Maunganui Road, onto State Highway 2. near the papamoa turn off, veer right onto Tauranga East Road, State Highway 2, heading south. Continue through Te Puke, then turn left onto Te Tumu Road and right onto maketu Road. Before Maketu turn left onto Kaituna Road, then right onto Ford Road, down to the beach.
