Shark Alley
Shark Alley is a sandy beach break located just on the other side of Leisure Island (Moturiki). This small island sits just off Mount Maunganui's Main Beach. Breaks can also be found off either side of Motuotau Island, a short paddle out from the beach. There are several peaks to choose from with both right and left-handers. The wave is often soft and fat, great for learners and mal riders. Suitable for all levels of surfer. Popular beach so watch out for swimmers, know the rules and respect the locals. Facilities are available at the surf club.

From Tauranga City, head to Mount Maunganui and get onto Maunganui Road. Turn onto Banks Avenue, down to the beach and onto Marine Parade. You can find many peaks down this stretch of beach.
