Pio's
Pio's is a beach break on a sandy beach, located between Waihi Beach and Bowentown. You can surf anywhere along this stretch of beach. There are several peaks to choose from with both right and left handers. The wave is punchy and fun. This beach is popular, so watch out for swimmers, know the rules and respect the locals. From Tauranga City, head west out of Tauranga on Takitimu Drive, State Highway 2. Turn right onto Arthenree Road and Continue onto Steele Road, then turn right onto Emerton Road. Continue through the round about onto Tuna Ave and park at the beach straight ahead. You can surf anywhere along this stretch of beach.
