Cook's Cove
Cook's Cove is out off the point at the southern end of Tolaga Bay, about a 25 minute walk from the Tolaga Bay wharf. Coves Cove produces a right hand point break on a rocky beach. The wave is powerful, with a hollow drop in and solid wall. There are also other breaks around Mitre Rocks and off Pourewa Island. Experts only.

From Gisborne head east on Wainui Road State Highway 35. Continue north, just before you get to Tolaga Bay turn right onto Wharf Road. Wharf Road will turn left and stop at the southern end of Tolaga Bay near the wharf. At the end of the road park in the car park. From here its about a 25 minute walk to Cook's Cove along the Cook's Cove track.
