The Spit - Mahia
The Spit at Mahia has a right and left point break along the sides of a long, narrow, rocky spit. The Spit is located just south of the Mahia township, you can't miss it when your driving past. The left is often slightly better than the right, but both sides of the spit are top quality. The waves are steep and hollow, steep dropins and good barrels. Leave this one to the experts.
