Waikawau
Waikawau is a beach break on a sandy beach, located near the northern tip of the Coromandel Peninsula. Waikawau has several peaks along the beach to choose from with both right and left handers. The wave is punchy and fun. Coromandel beaches are popular, so Know the rules and respect the locals. Good for beginner to expert surfers.

Waikawau is located on the east side of the Coromandel peninsula, near the northern tip.
From Thames head north on Queen Street, State Highway 25. When getting close to Coromandel town ship the road will turn into Tiki Road and continue straight into Coromandel. In Coromandel Turn right onto Kapanga Road, then onto Rings Road, and onto Colville Road. Continue through Colville then turn right onto Port Charles Road. The road with turn to gravel. Further on turn right onto Waikawau Beach Road along to Waikawau Bay and the beach.
