Opito Bay
Opito Bay is a beach break on a sandy beach, located on the north eastern tip of the Coromandel Peninsula. Opito Bay is a fairly sheltered bay and needs a decent swell to get it working. The wave is Punchy and fun. Coromandel beaches are popular, so Know the rules and respect the locals. Good for beginner to expert surfers.

Opito Bay is on the east side of the Coromandel peninsula, near the northern tip, off State Highway 25.
From Thames head north on Queen Street, State Highway 25. You will go round the northern tip of the Coromandel Peninsula to the east side. When you get to the east side turn left onto Black Jack Road, then turn right to stay on Black Jack Road. At Opito turn left onto Skippers Road and to the beach.
