Whitianga
Whitianga is a beautiful spot on the Coromandel. Whitianga has a beach break on Baffalo Beach and a right hand bar break at the mouth of the Whitianga Harbour. Whitianga is very sheltered from the swell and needs a at least 3m swell and the right angle to get in, hence its fairly inconsistant. Good for Beginners. River mouths often have strong rips and currents. Whitianga is very popular especially in the holidays, so watch out for swimmers.
