Amberley Beach
Amberley Beach is a beach break on a shingle/stoney beach, located on the coast from the Amberley township, north of Christchurch. There are several peaks to choose from along the beach with both right and left handers. The wave is punchy and fun. Good for all levels of surfer. Fossils is at the north end of the beach, which features a left hand point break and beach break, but requires a 4WD to access or a very long walk.

Amberley Beach is located on the coast from Amberley, north of Christchurch.
From Christchurch head north on State Highway 1, to Amberley. At Amberley turn right onto Amberley Beach Road. Continue straight onto Chamberlain Ave along the beach front, then turn right onto Grierson Ave and onto Golf Links Road. Park along here to check out the surf. Fossils is down the north end of the beach, which features a left hand point break and beach break, but requires a 4WD to access or a very long walk.
