Waikuku Beach
Waikuku Beach is a beach break on a sandy beach, located not far north of Christchurch. Its a long beach with many peaks down the beach to choose from offering both right and left handers. The waves can be variable depending on tide, wind and sand movement. The wave is punchy and fun, more hollow than the Christchurch local beaches. You can often find a peak to yourself. Watch out for swimmers, especially around the surf club. Good for beginners to experts. Waikuku Surf Club facilities and camping ground available.

Waikuku Beach is located just north of Woodend, north of Christchurch.
From Christchurch City Centre, head north on Papanui Road, through Papanui, Northwood and Belfast. Continue onto Main North Road, State Highway 1, out of the city. Continue through Woodend and past Pegasus Town. Turn right onto Waikuku Beach Road (Sign posted), down to Waikuku. At Waikuku turn right onto Park Terrace, then left onto Bridge Street, down to the Beach and Surf Club.
