Fossils
Fossils is a left-hand point break and a sandy beach break with a rocky point, located at the north end of Amberley Beach, north of Christchurch. There is a good left-hand point break on the rocky point at the north end of the beach which goes through onto the beach break. The wave is punchy and wally, good fun and great for mals. Suitable for all levels of surfer.

Directions
Fossils is located on the coast from Amberley, north of Christchurch.
From Christchurch, head north on State Highway 1, to Amberley. At Amberley, turn right onto Amberley Beach Road. Continue straight onto Chamberlain Ave along the beach front, then turn right onto Grierson Ave and onto Golf Links Road. Continue to the end of the road. From here, you will need to ford the river, then follow the 4WD track down to the north end of the beach. 4WD with ground clearance required to ford the small river. Alternatively you can walk down the beach, approx. 45-60mins.
