Clarence Point
Clarence Point is a right-hand point break on a shingle/stoney beach, located just north of the Clarence River Mouth, north of Kaikoura. The wave is wally and long, depending on swell angle. There can be barrels here on occasion. Good for all levels of surfer. River mouths often have strong currents or rips.

Clarence Point is located just north of the Clarence River Mouth, north of Kaikoura.
From Kaikoura, drive north on State Highway 1 for about 20mins. Cross the Clarence River, past a couple of houses and round the next big bend, then park at the side of the road. From here it's a walk across the train tracks and several paddocks to reach the point.
