Okiwi Bay
Okiwi Bay, also known as Sandy Bay, is north of Kaikoura featuring a beach break on a sandy beach. The wave is nice and easy, either soft and fat or it can get a good wall to it, with both right and left handers on offer. Best at a lower tide. Watch out for the boulders and seaweed in the shorey. Good learners wave, this is where the local surf school usually comes. The beach gets sheltered from the north east wind so can be good when everywhere else is wind blown.
