Mokau
Mokau is a sandy, river mouth beach break, located at the mouth of the Mokau River. There can be a couple of peaks to choose from with both right and left-handers, on both sides of the river mouth and along the beach. The break changes depending on sandbar movements. The wave is punchy and powerful, with barrels on offer. Suitable for intermediate to expert surfers. River mouths often have strong currents and rips, so surf with caution.
