Tom Bowling Bay
Tom Bowling Bay is a beach break on a sandy beach, located east of Spirits Bay, out near the north eastern tip of North Cape. Tom Bowling Bay is very isolated and hard to access, also meaning no crowds. There are several peaks to choose from along the beach with both right and left handers. The wave is punchy and fun. Good for all levels of surfer.

Tom Bowling Bay is located east of Spirits Bay, out near the north eastern tip of North Cape.
From Kaitaia travel north on State Highway 1 all the way to Waitiki Landing. At Waitiki Landing turn right and head east on Te Hapua Road. Road turns to gravel. Turn left onto Spirits Bay Road and continue north to Kapowairua, Spirits Bay. From here its a long hike over to Tom Bowling bay, or if you knwo the right people you may be able to get onto some of the forestry tracks.
