Mimiwhangata Bay
Mimiwhangata Bay is a beach break on a sandy beach, located south of Helena Bay on the east coast, north of Whangarei. Must ask permission and pay to cross farm land to access the beach. There are several peaks down the beach to choose from with both right and left handers. The wave is punchy and fun. Can also find a break out on Paparahi Point. Good for all levels of surfer.

Mimiwhangata Bay is located south of Helena Bay on the east coast, north of Whangarei.
From Whangarei, head north on Western Hills Drive, State Highway 1. Turn right onto Russell Road, then right onto Pigs Head Road. Turn left onto Kaiikanui Road. Turn right onto Mimiwhangata Road and out to Okupe beach. From here its a walk, you must ask permission and pay to cross farm land to access the beach.
