Matauri Bay
Matauri Bay is a beach break on a sandy beach, located north of Kerikeri on the east coast of Northland. There are several peaks down the beach to choose from with both right and left handers. The wave is soft and fat, good mal wave and great for learners. Good for all levels of surfer. Popular beach - know the rules and respect the locals. Watch out for swimmers.

Matauri Bay is located north of Kerikeri on the east coast of Northland.
From Kaitaia, head north on North Road, State Highway 1. At Awanui turn right onto State Highway 10. Continue on State Highway 10 past Whangaroa Harbour and Kaeo, then turn left onto Matauri Bay Road and follow this all the way to the beach.
From Whangarei, head north on Western Hills Drive, State Highway 1. At Kawakawa turn left onto Queen Street, State Highway 1. Turn right onto State Highway 10. Turn right onto Matauri Bay Road and follow this all the way to the beach.
