Okupe Beach
Okupe Beach is a beach break on a sandy beach, located north of Moureeses Bay on the east coast, north of Whangarei. There are several peaks down the beach to choose from with both right and left handers. The wave is punchy and fun. Beach is exposed to the wind. Good for all levels of surfer. Popular beach, so know the rules and respect the locals. Watch out for swimmers.

From Whangarei, head north on Western Hills Drive, State Highway 1. Turn right onto Russell Road, then right onto Pigs Head Road. Turn left onto Kaiikanui Road. Turn right onto Mimiwhangata Road and out to the beach.
