Pines
Pines is well known for excellent surf, with big long rides. Pines is a left hand point break on a rocky point, located west round the point from Shipwreck Bay, and west of Ahipara. There are four distinct sections on the point starting with Pines the further most west, then onto Supertubes, then Mukie2 and Mukie1, the closest east. Pines is the easiest, cruisie wave of the four. The wave is nice and wally and can barrel up towards the end. Pines is a long walk to get to or if you have a 4wd you can drive around on the beach. Be careful of rips. Best for advanced to expert surfers.
