Marsden Point

Marsden Point is a long beach with the Ruakaka River outlet at the southern end of the beach. Its a beach break on a sandy beach, picking east and south east swell. There are several peaks down the beach between Marsden Point and Ruakaka, producing left and right handers. Find a bar break at the mouth of the Ruakaka River. A good variety of fun waves on offer. Good for all levels of surfer.

Directions 

From Whangarei, head south on State Highway 1 Otaika Road. Continue through Oakleigh, then turn left onto either Port Marsden Highway to Port Marsden or Marsden Point Road. You can turn off to the beach and find a good spot to surf any where along this road.
